About CISV Thailand

  • Our Story

    CISV Thailand began its mission in 1975 under the support of the Ministry of Education to promote friendship and cultural understanding among youth worldwide. This initiation marked the beginning of a journey that truly transformed international cultural exchange.

  • Our Journey

    Over the years, the National Youth Promotion and Coordination Committee (NYPC) played a significant role in shaping our direction. However, following changes in 1982, we became a privately-run association under the guidance of parents and supported by the YMCA and the Youth Development Center (YPDC), which was officially registered in 1991. Our growth has been driven by a shared commitment to education for peace and international friendship.

  • Our Growth

    From initially sending only eight youth per year, we now send over a hundred Thai youth annually to participate in various CISV programs worldwide. Our expansion goes beyond just the Village camps, including Interchange, Youth Meeting, Step Up, Seminar Camp, and other programs to promote broader understanding and participation.

    Since 1985, we have been welcoming youth from member countries to participate in camps held in Thailand. Our efforts have gained international recognition, with our camps being considered among the best in the world.

CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) is a non-profit, non-political organization that aims to promote peace education and cross-cultural understanding among children and young people from different countries. CISV was founded in 1951 by Dr. Doris Allen and operates in over 70 countries around the world.

Founded in 1951 by Dr. Doris Allen, CISV is driven by the belief that peace is possible through building friendships and mutual understanding, starting with the youth. We are an organization focused on education and inspiring peace through cooperation, understanding, and friendships across cultures. Today, CISV has members in more than 70 countries worldwide and over 200 chapters.

We are committed to developing the potential of youth through learning about different cultures, building friendships with youth from other nations, and creating a network of “Global Active Citizens” to lead positive change in our communities and the world.
